What's Happened To Our Children

What's happened to our children?

I walked down the street today,

One of em' stared me down

like I had no right coming thru town!

Murder on the streets

Children just stand & stare

Some continue on playing

just feet from crime scene tape

Their minds have become numb!

They don't care to escape.

What's happened to our children?

Recreation centers are closed up

Leaving these kids to roam the streets

Nothing constructive for them to do,

Some have to go out and steal shoes

No food in the house

Nothing to eat

But mommy looks good

when she hits the streets!

Pledge of allegiance

taken out of schools,

Discipline snatched out of homes

Now children have no respect

for anyone not even themselves!

What's Happened to our Children?

Baby girl have no idea bout' the wooden nickels!

Runnin' around with anyone who tickles it

Now she has a baby and don't care to finish school

She has no man in her life

showing her what a man's real role

in this world is like!

So she run to the 1st man

who says,“you're pretty”.

Our children are crying out for,

mother's & father who'll teach
