I've Been Thinking About You

I can’t get you out of my head.

All I wanna do,
is twist my fingers in those
Knotty, knotty dreads!

When we first met,
I started to keep on walking
wondering is this another one
who wants me to share him with two or three?

Something inside made me stop
I’m glad I did because you add what’s missing to the block!

It feels real good to be excited to see you
and to laugh and smile
I may need to place you in the main file.

I’ve been thinking about you

I feel kind of guilty for having such strong feelings in such a short time
but damn I just can’t seem to get you off my mind!

It’s been a long time & I need to take it slow.
There are a lot of things I really need to know.

I haven’t trusted anyone with my heart for sometime.
With you, I’m ready to let my guard down
like the drop of a dime.

I’ve been thinking about you…

Without Hesitation

Ooh, baby, baby
please!
Slow it down.

Let me have just a few minutes, an hour.
Could I perhaps get one night?

I was pondering perhaps a celebration alongside of candle light.

A smidgen of conversation,
Bestow a thought or two.

Come
Let me wash away the day for you.
I’ll just pretend you’re my boo...
Without hesitation!

When you arrive, don’t worry about ringing no chime.
Don’t look for no key!
Just twist the knob and come to me.

Kiss behind my ears and the base of my neck and at that moment;
Rub my thighs and all up my back.

Hurry
Come wash the day off of me.

Gaze into my eyes like you did the first time,
subduing my mind with subliminal pacification,
intoxicating my mental gift to reason and balance
another rhapsody of what you declare, ingenuous, blissful love.
Without hesitation!

Just before I curl next to you to retire for the night,
I’ll kneel and ask the Lord, Most High,
for our union to remain a euphoric yoke;
and without indecision,
you forever introduce to my being a special luminous smile
which explodes uninterrupted from the very essence of my soul.

May we pledge unity & balance,
a life saturated in tranquility,
one deeper than fleshly relations

I’m seeking my soul mate,
someone with whom I can pass through heavens gates.

I’m soliciting a lifetime of social intimacy,
kindness, respect & support
Sweet promises of everything,
yet receiving nothing but having it all!

You see,
You’ve captured my attention with your facile smile
Without hesitation I’ll risk it all!

When The Stick Turned Blue

A special day,
Some call it joyous.
When the stick turned blue she said oops!

Is this a miracle life or tragic mistake?

Celebrating and partying she did what she wanted to do.
Speeding all night, puffin reefer & drinking, sometimes landing in fights.
Now her baby’s born non responsive without life.

She was doin’ the damn thang and forgot about you!

Barely breathing arriving in this world drunk and messed up;
Baby just cries and cries all day, all night now she’s screaming shut the F- up!

Get yo’ ass up!
It’s time to go to school.

I’m gone send you off today and ya’ bet not act no fool.
Ooh I hate when the stick turned blue.

Just look at you, you make me sick.
I should have never sat on your daddy’s dick.
I don’t know how to stop you from throwing these fits.
Could it have been those indo sticks or other drugs I did while turning tricks?

I don’t care what it is, your behavior is not right.
We’re gonna get to the bottom of this if it takes all night!

Papa's Storm

Darkened tree barks scattered all through the forest;
Coated with deep green leaves which grew like a chorus!

Hot, humid, the middle of the day.
Thunderstorms rolling in the company of a dominant clang!

Rain hits the asphalt like the sounds of drummers coming from his past.
Oh Jah, what a mighty task.

Listen.
So strong, so much force!

Smell the heat, the dampness, the stillness too.

I’m thinking of you papa this storm reminds me of you.

I want to hear your laughter just one more time!
Talk to you or see your face.
But your body has grown weary and has quit the race.

Since the day you left me, no salt left in my tears.
I’m feeling your vibe while reminiscing the years.

I heard the storm roar as ferocious as the lions in the jungle,
And wished you were here to witness this tunnel.

Just at that moment a warm breeze blew by the side of my ear;
Letting me know your were standing right there.

Without warning, I felt you’re arms slowly wrapping around my body,
Caressing me just as you did when I was young.

Your strong hands stroking my hair telling me baby, daddy’s right here.

I’ll never leave my little girl again.

If you need to talk,
Just pray on Papa’s storm!

Do You See What I See

Do You See What I See

You, running from the police
Pants at your ankles
Shuffling across the street?

The scene of every crime,
You lying in your drawers
Butt naked, dead
In nothing at all!

Lil’ man barely learning to walk,
Struggling to hold his pants up
Momma’s boyfriend wears it like that,
Mommy thinks it’s cute!
Look at my baby…

Do you see what I see?
I see you
I want the nice shoes and ride,
I just ain’t ready to die!

Becoming product of environment,
Hustling to survive
You become property of state
Unable to escape

The label,
That’s now placed on you!

FELON

Rehabilitated or not,
Your life is shot!

There’s nothing left you can do,
But pray to God!

That is,
If anyone took time to introduce you.
He’s your only way!

Now you sit, do what ya’ gotta do
To get through each day!

Do you see what I see?

Our future,
Our black men,
Diminishing!

Right before our eyes!

Recognize
You
Are our PRIZE!

Mothers know,
You can change it all up!

Take time,
Grow your boys up!!
